What is a ceilidh?
A ceilidh (pronounced KAY-lee) is a fun, energetic social dance with live folk music, originating in Scotland. In England, a similar event is often called a barn dance, and today the two terms are commonly used interchangeably.
At KJ Ceilidhs, we usually perform a lively mix of our favourite Scottish, English and Irish dances, creating a fun, inclusive experience that everyone can enjoy, known as our KJ Favourites. If you have a particular theme in mind, we also have the option to choose a traditional Scottish ceilidh, an English barn dance, a Wild West Theme, Irish Ceili, when you book with us.
