KJ Folk & Friends Ceilidh Band played the first ever Sheringham Lobster Potties Festival ceilidh 2024, and we are booked under our exclusive jazzy duet line-up, White Bryony Ceilidhs, for the 2025 Friday Night Ceilidh at the Straw Bear Festival... Between us all, we have also played 100+ weddings & parties in 2024 with many of our talented musicians & ceilidh callers making an appearance at some of the top folk festivals across the UK.

What sets us apart
With Kathryn Johnstone as our lead musician on the diatonic accordion, our band is made up from a selection of the best folk musicians and callers from across the whole UK. We are not a ceilidh band agency like many others out there. We are the best of friends that play music together all the time, giving us a unique and high-quality edge to our sound from jazzy saxophones to the highland bagpipes!
As there are quite a few of us in the band, it gives us the unique ability to cater to individual tastes with various line-up options available to choose from. Some of our clients prefer a full Scottish ceilidh, whereas others enjoy the mixture of folk music that we offer. With specialists in each genre of traditional folk (English, Irish, Scottish), we can always tailor our line-up to create the best band for your ceilidh!

All of our callers are high-profile, often calling for top UK Folk Festivals as they are the absolute best at getting everyone up and dancing.
